AutonoMe is an ambitious South West-based startup using a technology platform to make huge strides to improve the lives of neurodiverse Children and Adults across the UK. AutonoMe exists to enable people with learning disabilities and autism to realise their full potential. By combining passionate people and scaleable tech we believe we can make an impact on the wide-ranging challenges that are experienced by people with learning disabilities and autism as they journey through life.
AutonoMe blends human support and technology to enable people with learning disabilities and autism to live more independently. Our app gives people easy access to our library of instructional videos and every learner is supported to work towards their goals by a dedicated AutonoMe Development Co-ordinator. Learner progress is monitored in real-time through our data dashboard to ensure challenges, as well as successes, are identified and acted upon quickly.
We are looking for a new team member with experience supporting people with learning disabilities and or neurodiversity into paid employment to join our team. Alongside the core competencies and attributes outlined below; it is essential that the successful candidate:
Is able to start no later than November 1st, 2023 and
Has experience and is confident with Access to Work
This role will be based in London and cover the SouthEast region; supporting learners virtually and in person where needed on both of AutonoMe’s programmes; AutonoMe Employment which supports learners to gain and sustain employment and AutonoMe at Home which supports learners to gain independent living skills. Initially, this role will be a fixed-term maternity cover ending September 2024 however it is our intention to make this role permanent if our growth continues in line with our projections.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Operations and be an essential member of the operational team comprising 4 other operational colleagues. The successful candidate will lead our employment support; providing expertise to colleagues and strategic input to the wider organisation where needed.
Supporting Learners and their support network
You will introduce learners to the AutonoMe service, supporting them to identify their outcomes.
You will guide learners across various locations to use our instructional videos to build up their independence in the home against their outcomes.
You will support learners Monday to Friday from 9:00 - 5:00, excluding bank holidays. There may be occasions when support is required outside of these times.You will deliver training to learners and support providers both virtually and in person effectively explaining the service and philosophy behind it.
You will be responsible for managing and building relationships with a number of clients, learners and key partners.
You will be provided with guidance on how to effectively manage these relationships while being given the freedom to bring your thoughts, experience and skills to develop the role in the way you believe best fits your clients, learners and our growing ambitions.
You will work closely with your key stakeholders to utilise AutonoMe as part of their care delivery and promote it externally to the wider community.
Data analysis
You will regularly examine and evaluate client and user data, collating this information into actionable understandable feedback to your clients and key partners.
You will manage and evaluate your client and learner data across the platform on a regular basis in line with your KPIs
Team working
You will be very hands-on working closely with the rest of the operations team regularly updating management on the progress your learners are making.
Work closely with your line manager and the rest of the operations team, sharing good practice, and feeding your expertise and experience into the overall operational strategy.
At times you will work with the Director of Development and Video Production manager on features and videos that can improve user experience and further their progress
To be proactive in overcoming challenges our clients and learners face considering how AutonoMe can address these challenges.
Networking
You will actively partake in your community; attending exhibitions, networking events, delivering presentations and hosting meetings.
Additional aspects of the role
You will be required to travel to the Weston-Super-Mare office at least once a quarter (travel and accommodation will be covered). Outside of this, you will be required to travel to engage with learners, providers and stakeholders.
You may be required to work, from time to time, outside of the region.
You will be required to work from home.
You will be required to lone work.
Identify and advocate for additional resources where you need them to do your job.

Prefer to work in a startup environment where you’re comfortable with rapid change.
Enjoy working with a great deal of autonomy and being able to manage your own time

Have the people skills to work alongside our progress team.
Have a full clean driving licence and be comfortable with travelling in your own vehicle.
It is desirable that the candidate has supported employment experience and knowledge
of Access to Work funding.
