Michelle, with whom we work in partnership with Brandon Trust to support, works as a cafe assistant in
one of their amazing cafes.
When asked what their favourite part of the support that they get from AutonoMe is
“Having someone to listen to how I'm feeling and being able to tell me what ways to offload them better."
The Challenge: Breaking the Cycle of "Bottling Up"
Before receiving external support, the individual struggled to manage outside stressors while at work.
They described a difficult cycle of "bottling up" their thoughts and emotions, which would eventually
lead to "exploding" in the workplace. This made effective communication with colleagues and
customers a significant hurdle.
In 2024, the individual began working with AutonoMe. Through a combination of one-on-one meetings
and AutonoMe’s in-app support videos, they began to develop the tools necessary to manage their
emotions in the workplace and to learn work-related skills. Specifically, the support helped them
understand how to "offload" their feelings more effectively, rather than letting them accumulate and
erode their confidence in the workplace.
The Result: Calmer and more Confident in the workplace
